Alpha by Sunday

Well the time is fast approaching for me to actually hand out the first draft to my alpha readers. I have to say I am getting nervous about it.

I’ve finished all the little rewrites and am now putting the draft into a readable format. I will hopefully finish it in a day or two and start sending it out to friends and family for their input. It won’t all be fun and games for the alpha readers. There will be an accompanying document with a few questions for them to answer probably about five. I haven’t written them out yet but they will be along the lines of:

– If they enjoyed the story

– Anything that stood out in a good way or bad way

– If anything the characters did seemed out of character

– Did the world and characters seem deep enough

Etc…

I am hoping to send it out to about 10 people from different walks of life. A love of sci-fi is a plus but not totally necessary. If you are interested in being an alpha reader send me a comment to this article.

Critic’s corner: So went to see Rampage this week. It had quite a few plot holes but props to them for trying something new and coming up with one of the weirdest movies I’ve seen this year so far. The Rock is always fun to watch. Something I’ve tried to do in my novel is to think of situations I hadn’t seen in novels before. We’ll see if I was successful.
